Description

Our Posey plant pot is made from 100% stoneware and shaped as a full, rounded bowl that swells at the middle and draws in slightly at the rim and the foot. Its whole outer surface is sculpted into raised, pointed segments that overlap in staggered rows, rather like the leaves of an artichoke, and a glossy blue glaze flows over them, pooling darker in the grooves and thinning to lighter tones on the high points. At 15cm across and 14cm tall it is a small pot, the right size for a single compact houseplant.

It belongs where a single plant needs a little presence: a sideboard beside a lamp, a bookshelf, the corner of a desk or a windowsill. Its compact size also fits a shelf inside a glass-fronted cabinet, among bowls, boxes and books. A succulent, a small cactus or a compact trailing plant suits its proportions, and the sculpted, glossy sides set off the plain green of the foliage. It suits a bathroom shelf as well, for a plant that enjoys a humid room, and it makes a considered gift for anyone who likes houseplants but has little space for them.
