Description

This lidded storage basket is coiled from thick, twisted ropes of water hyacinth, with iron listed alongside it in the materials. It is round, 26cm across and 28cm tall, and it tapers gently from a wide rim to a narrower base, which keeps its footprint small on a floor or shelf. The lid is a flat spiral of the same twisted rope, finished with a plaited edge and a small knotted loop at its centre for lifting. At 1KG the basket is easy to pick up and carry from room to room, and its Natural colour sits comfortably with wood, linen and white walls alike.

Once the lid is closed, whatever is inside stays out of sight, which makes it a good home for the everyday clutter of a busy house. In a bathroom it holds spare toilet rolls, hand towels and flannels; in a bedroom it keeps socks, scarves or hair accessories together; beside a sofa it hides chargers, cables and remote controls.
