Description

The Pedra is a round serving bowl, 26.5cm across and 10.5cm deep. The wall rises straight from a narrow foot, kicks out into a shallow shoulder near the top and then runs up to a plain rim, so the profile steps rather than curves. The glaze is a soft speckled grey that shifts tone across the surface, and a darker brown band runs round the rim where it meets it.

At 26.5cm this is a bowl for the middle of a table rather than for a place setting, and at 10.5cm deep it holds enough to serve from. The stepped shoulder gives a place to take hold of it with both hands when it is full. The bowl is food safe.

The bowl is earthenware and every one is hand-finished. The grey glaze develops its own tonal variation as it fires, so the depth of the speckling and the way the brown meets it at the rim differ on each bowl. The Pedra range also runs to a dinner plate, a side plate, a cereal bowl and a full dinner set.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

26.5cm across and 10.5cm deep.

Is it food safe?

Yes.

Will every bowl look the same?

Not exactly. The glaze varies in tone across every bowl, so the speckling and the rim differ on each one.

What else is in the range?

A dinner plate, a side plate, a cereal bowl and a dinner set.

How do I look after it?

Wash it after every use to stop it staining, using a mild detergent, and do not leave it to soak. Handle it with care, as the rim will chip.
