Description

Our Paula mug is a plump, generous stoneware mug that holds 410ml, with a body that swells out like a ball and a round loop handle set on one side. It measures 10.5cm across and 8.5cm tall, so it sits low and wide on the table rather than tall and narrow. The orange reactive glaze runs as a fine speckle over the whole piece, gathering into a denser band around the middle, and the inside is glazed smooth as well.

At 410ml this is a proper large mug rather than a coffee cup, with room for a big tea, a milky coffee or a hot chocolate on a cold morning. The rounded body rests easily in a cupped palm, which makes it a natural choice for the first drink of the day at the kitchen table or a slow cup in a favourite armchair. Between uses it looks at home on a kitchen dresser or an open wooden shelf, and it makes a thoughtful present for a tea or coffee lover.
