Description

This stoneware egg cup is 5cm across and 6.5cm tall, a size that holds a single egg upright with the top sitting proud of the rim, ready for the spoon. The cup narrows to a slim waist and then flares out into a short, wide foot, so it stands steadily on the table without needing a saucer. Its beige reactive glaze is speckled all over with fine flecks, paler towards the rim and deeper towards the foot, which gives the piece a soft, earthy look. At 0.12KG it is light in the hand but has the reassuring solidity of proper stoneware.

It belongs on the breakfast table, whether that is a soft-boiled egg with toast soldiers before work or a slow weekend brunch with the whole household.
