Description

A pair of small ceramic mugs, each 6.5cm tall and 8cm across, holding 200ml. A broad grey band covers most of the body between a cream rim and a cream foot, and over the grey run close vertical rows of short dark dashes, each row brushed on by hand. The handle is left plain cream and is set high on the body, close under the rim.

At 200ml these are small mugs, a short coffee or a small tea rather than a large one, and at 6.5cm tall they sit low on a tray or a board. Two come in a set, and both are dishwasher safe.

The mugs are ceramic. The clay is painted by hand while the surface is still soft, the brush drawn down the body in short strokes, so the spacing and the weight of the marks shift from one mug to the next. Patthar is made in three colourways, this grey, a sand and a clay, and the mugs come in a large size as well.

Frequently Asked

How many mugs come in a set?

Two.

How much does each one hold?

200ml.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes, and they are food safe.

Will the two match?

Not exactly. Each one is painted by hand, so the dashes fall differently on every mug.

Is there a larger size?

Yes. The Patthar mug is also made large, in the same three colourways.

How do I look after them?

Wash them after every use so nothing is left to stain them, using a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak. Handle them carefully, since ceramic chips.
