Description

The Palladium is a 100cm diameter skeleton wall clock with a black metal face, gold hour markers and an exposed gear mechanism visible through a central cutaway. The clock uses moving cogs finished in bronze-toned metal that rotate as the clock runs, positioned behind a shaped aperture that reveals the working mechanism without exposing the full interior. A brass-finish rim frames the black dial, and the clock hands are finished in black metal.

Designed for large walls in living rooms, dining rooms, entrance halls and commercial interiors where a statement timepiece is needed, the 100cm face requires a clear wall area of at least 1.2m x 1.2m to avoid looking cramped. The clock suits high ceilings and open-plan spaces where the scale can be appreciated from a distance. The 8cm projection from the wall means it needs to be mounted where it will not be knocked. The clock runs on 3 x AA batteries (not included) and is intended for indoor use only.

The half-open design shows six visible gears rotating at different speeds as the clock mechanism runs, creating movement beyond the standard sweep of the hands. The black face provides contrast against the gold hour markers and bronze-finish cogs, while the brass rim ties the colour palette together. The metal construction gives the clock a 8.1kg weight, so it requires secure wall fixings into solid material rather than plasterboard alone. The Palladium range includes matching mirrors and decorative accessories in the same black-and-gold finish if a coordinated scheme is needed.

Frequently Asked

Do the cogs actually move?

Yes. The visible gears are part of the working clock mechanism and rotate at different speeds as the clock runs. The movement is slow and constant rather than rapid, creating a subtle kinetic element.

What wall fixings are needed?

The clock weighs 8.1kg, so it must be fixed into solid wall material using appropriate heavy-duty fixings. Plasterboard alone will not support the weight safely. If mounting on plasterboard, use fixings that locate into studs or battens behind the board.

What batteries does it take?

The clock requires 3 x AA batteries, which are not included. Standard alkaline AA batteries typically last 12-18 months depending on the mechanism load.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The clock is specified for indoor use only. The mechanism is not sealed against moisture, and exposure to outdoor conditions would cause corrosion and failure.
