Description

The Palladium is a 100cm wall clock with a matt black face, antique gold metal rim, and a central mechanism of exposed moving cogs behind a cut-out dial. The clock hands sweep across a minimalist face marked with raised gold tick marks instead of numerals, while the visible gear train rotates behind the dial as the mechanism drives the timekeeping.

Designed for large wall spaces in living rooms, hallways, offices and loft-style interiors, the 100cm diameter makes the Palladium readable from 5-8 metres away. The exposed gear design suits industrial, steampunk and contemporary interiors where mechanical elements are celebrated rather than hidden. The clock runs on standard AA batteries (not included) housed in a rear compartment accessible without removing the clock from the wall.

The metal construction gives the clock an 8.2kg weight, so it requires secure wall fixing into masonry or timber studs rather than plasterboard alone. The antique gold finish on the rim and cog faces contrasts with the matt black dial and hands, creating depth when viewed from an angle. The 8cm projection from the wall accommodates the battery compartment and allows the cogs to rotate freely without touching the mounting surface.

Yes. The central cogs are connected to the clock mechanism and rotate as the hands move, providing continuous visible motion. The rotation speed varies across the different gear sizes to mimic a functional gear train.

What wall fixing is needed for the 8.2kg weight?

The clock requires secure fixing into masonry using wall plugs and screws, or into timber studs if mounting on a stud wall. Plasterboard fixings alone will not safely support 8.2kg. A single keyhole mount on the rear accepts the fixing screw.

What batteries does it take?

The clock runs on standard AA batteries housed in a rear compartment. Batteries are not included. The compartment is accessible from the back without removing the clock from the wall, allowing battery changes in situ.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No. The Palladium is rated for indoor use only. The metal construction and battery-powered mechanism are not weatherproofed against moisture or temperature variation.
