Description
This is a small Christmas tree decoration made from 100% sisal, 23cm tall and 9.5cm across, in a soft, muted green. The stiff fibres fan out from a central stem and taper to a narrow point, giving the familiar cone of a little pine, and tiny bead-like clusters are scattered through the tips, gathered most thickly towards the top. At that height it is a tabletop tree rather than a floor-standing one: big enough to register from across a room, small enough to sit on a shelf without crowding it.
It belongs wherever you want a quiet note of Christmas without the commitment of a full tree: a mantelpiece, a windowsill, a bookshelf, the hall table by the front door, or the middle of the dining table among the table linen and place cards. It suits a small flat as well as a large family room, and because it weighs only 0.08KG it is easy to move from place to place as December goes on. Several standing together at different spacings along a sideboard make a little winter woodland, while a single one on a desk at work is enough to mark the season.
Sisal is a natural plant fibre, stiff and coarse to the touch, and here it makes up dense bristled branches. The tree stands upright on a small round base at the foot of its stem, so it needs no pot or separate stand, and the slightly uneven fibre ends give it a soft, feathery outline rather than a hard, clipped one. The styling props shown are not included. For the best effect, give it a little space of its own, or set it just in front of a taller piece so its narrow point and textured tips catch the light.

It is green, a soft and muted shade, with tiny bead-like clusters scattered through the tips of the fibres and gathered most thickly towards the top.
