Ornamentia Embossed Christmas Bowls 13cm Set of 4 - Multi

These are four round stoneware bowls, each 13cm across and 7cm tall, with a ring of Christmas baubles embossed around the outside. Each bauble hangs from a cord and a bow, some striped and some dotted, against a loose scatter of spots. Because the motif is embossed it stands slightly raised, so you can feel the pattern under your fingers. The colour is hand-painted onto that relief, so the multi-colour pattern is done by hand rather than printed. Inside, the bowl is left plain, with a painted line running round the rim. Each bowl holds 535ml, which makes it a generous cereal, soup or pudding bowl rather than a little dip dish.

Over Christmas they earn their place from breakfast to dessert: porridge or cereal in the morning, soup at lunch, trifle, ice cream or a warm pudding after dinner. Set out on the table or a sideboard, one makes a pretty dish for biscuits, nuts or sweets while guests help themselves. Four bowls cover a small household or a festive table for four. Because they can go in the microwave and the oven, they will warm leftovers or bake a small crumble and come straight to the table in the same dish.

Stoneware is fired hard and dense, which makes it a sturdy material for everyday use, and it holds heat well, so a bowl of soup stays warm a little longer. These bowls go in the dishwasher, which matters when you are reaching for them every day through December. To style them, line them up on an open shelf or dresser with the baubles facing out, or set one at each place on a linen cloth with plain plates beneath, and let the pattern do the decorating.

What are these Christmas bowls made of?

They are made of 100% stoneware. The bauble pattern is embossed and hand-painted around the outside, and the inside is left plain.

Can the bowls go in the dishwasher, microwave and oven?

Yes. The bowls go in the dishwasher, the microwave and the oven, so you can warm, bake and wash up without swapping dishes.

How big are the bowls and how much do they hold?

Each bowl is 13cm across and 7cm tall and holds 535ml. That is a good size for cereal, porridge, soup or a generous dessert.

How many bowls do I get?

You get four bowls, all carrying the same embossed bauble pattern around the outside. The styling props shown are not included.

Is the pattern on the inside of the bowl as well?

No. The embossed baubles run around the outside only. The inside is left plain, with a painted line marking the rim, so food sits against a clean surface.
