Olive Striped Stoneware Table Lamp - Multi

This table lamp is made of stoneware, iron and PVC, and its multicoloured stripes are painted by hand in wide bands that run from the top of the shade to the foot of the base. The shade is a broad, shallow cone and the base a slimmer, tapering one, and because both carry the same stripes the lamp reads as one piece rather than a base and a shade put together. A round metal finial sits at the top of the shade. At 29cm across and 35cm tall it is a compact lamp, sized for a bedside table, side table or desk without crowding it, and it weighs 2.1KG.

It belongs in a living room, bedroom, study or hallway: beside a sofa or armchair for an evening lamp, on a bedside table, or at the end of a sideboard. The 180cm cable gives you room to reach a socket behind a bed or a chair, and the switch sits on the cord, so you can turn it on and off without reaching under the shade. It suits anyone who prefers a painted, hand-finished piece to a plain one, and it looks at home among natural wood, linen and woven textures. A pair either side of a bed or at both ends of a sofa works well.

We like it on a plain wooden side table or a short stack of books, with little else around it, so the painted stripes are what the eye lands on.
