Description

Our Ocean Throw is a generous woven throw in a mottled blue, with a chunky, nubbly texture you can see and feel across the whole surface. The yarn is a blend of 45% polyester, 29% cotton, 16% linen and 10% lyocell, bringing together the softness of cotton, the crisp, natural texture of linen and the strength of polyester. At 160cm long and 130cm wide it is large enough to wrap around your shoulders or spread across a sofa, and at 1.18KG it has real substance in the hand.

Lay it over the arm of a sofa or the back of an armchair and it is close at hand whenever needed, for an evening with a book or a film. It is just as useful folded at the foot of a bed in a bedroom or guest room, ready for a chilly night. On a cool evening, carry it out to a garden bench or a sheltered porch, then bring it back indoors afterwards. The fringed ends and flecked weave suit a relaxed, lived-in room, and the blue sits happily alongside natural wood, rattan and other woven textures.

The fabric is woven from a thick, knobbly yarn that gives the surface its tactile, uneven texture, and each end finishes in a deep, knotted fringe. Care is simple: it goes in the washing machine at 40 degrees, can be tumble dried on a low setting and can be ironed on a medium heat. Polyester is a hard-wearing fibre that dries quickly, and linen tends to soften with washing. Our styling tip: fold it lengthways and lay it across the end of a bed so the fringe falls over the side, or drop it loosely over a chair for a softer, more casual look.
