Description
This is a low, rounded vase in terracotta, 20cm across and 16.5cm tall, so it is wider than it is high and sits close to the surface on which it stands. A short, narrow neck with a raised rim tops a full, round body, and a pattern of fine, flowing lines loops around the whole vase, crossing and curving like contour lines on a map. The clay has a rough, granular texture, and the colour is natural, the tone of the terracotta itself.
At 16.5cm tall it is a vase for short stems, so arrangements stay low and the rounded shape remains part of the display. A few cut branches, a small bunch of dried grasses or a handful of seed heads is all it needs, and the narrow neck gathers stems neatly, so a little goes a long way. Its wide body sits well on a sideboard, a console table, a deep window sill or a bookshelf, and it is at home in a living room, a hallway or a bedroom. On its own it brings texture to a plain side table; grouped with taller vases, books and a lamp along a console, it gives the arrangement a low, solid anchor.
The vase is made entirely of terracotta and weighs 1.54KG, a reassuring weight for its size. Terracotta is a fired clay and naturally porous, which is why dried stems, grasses and seed heads suit it so well. Its granular surface catches the light from the side, so the texture and the looping lines show most clearly near a window or a lamp. The styling props shown are not included. For the best effect, give it a little space on a plain surface so the pattern can be seen from every side, or pair it with glass and stone pieces for a contrast of smooth and rough.

Frequently Asked
Is the vase made of terracotta?
Yes, it is made of 100% terracotta, a fired clay, with a granular texture and a pattern of flowing lines looping around its body.
How big is it?
It is 20cm across and 16.5cm tall, a low, wide vase that suits short stems and small arrangements on a shelf or sideboard.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 1.54KG, which is a solid weight for a vase of this size and gives it a substantial feel on a shelf.
What colour is it?
The colour is natural, the tone of the terracotta itself, with fine, flowing lines crossing and curving around the whole body of the vase.
Which stems suit it best?
