Description

This is a small stoneware cup in blue, painted by hand with upright stripes that run from the rim to the base. It holds 100ml and measures 6.5cm across and 5.5cm tall, which makes it an espresso cup rather than a mug: the right size for a single or double shot, a short macchiato or a few sips of strong tea. The body is low and rounded, the rim follows a gently uneven line, and a chunky loop handle stands out from the side in a contrasting shade. At 0.15KG it is light in the hand.

Keep it beside the espresso machine or the moka pot for the first coffee of the day, or bring it out after dinner when guests want something short and strong. The stripes bring plenty of character to a kitchen table, an open shelf or a coffee station on the worktop, and a few of them lined up on a tray make a cheerful way to serve coffee with dessert.
