Description

The Nebula is a 37cm-high glass table lamp built around a double-shade system: an outer smoked glass ellipsoid and an inner stepped cone of clear polycarbonate, both housing an integrated 5W LED light source. The chrome-plated metal base and stem support the structure, and the light emits through both glass layers to create a layered glow effect where the polycarbonate steps act as internal reflectors.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and office desks where decorative and functional task lighting overlap, the Nebula suits rooms with contemporary or mid-century modern schemes. The 450lm output at 3000K provides warm white light suitable for reading or ambient task lighting in a study, bedroom or lounge. The 13cm diameter footprint fits narrow console depths and tight bedside layouts without overhanging.

The smoked glass outer shade diffuses the LED while retaining transparency, so the internal structure remains visible when lit and acts as the design feature. The chrome-plated base and stem provide a reflective accent that pairs with polished metals, glass furniture and cool-toned interiors. At 1.35kg the lamp has enough base weight to resist tipping on most surfaces. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior spaces only.

The Nebula operates on 24V DC via an external mains adapter (included), so no exposed mains voltage runs to the lamp itself. The stepped polycarbonate cone inside the glass creates a gradient light effect where each horizontal ring catches and refracts part of the LED output, giving the appearance of stacked illuminated layers when viewed from the side.

Is the LED replaceable or integrated?

The 5W LED is integrated into the lamp and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 10 years of typical residential use at 6 hours per day.

Can it be used as a bedside reading lamp?

Yes. The 450lm output at 3000K provides sufficient warm white light for bedside reading. The double-shade design diffuses the light to reduce glare while keeping enough directionality for close reading tasks.

What does the IP20 rating mean?

IP20 means the lamp is rated for dry interior use only. It offers no protection against moisture, so it cannot be used in bathrooms, outdoor spaces, or anywhere subject to condensation or water spray.

How is it powered?

The lamp operates on 24V DC and is supplied with a mains adapter that plugs into a standard UK 230V socket. The low-voltage design reduces shock risk and allows the lamp to run cooler than mains-voltage alternatives.
