Nauka 3 Light Pendant Light - Aged Bronze & Clear

The Nauka is a shallow open drum. Flat panes of clear pressed glass hang side by side all the way round an aged bronze ring, each on its own small hook, with a narrow gap between one pane and the next. The panes are curved in section rather than flat, so they catch the light down their length, and the glass carries the ripples and bubbles of pressing. The frame, the chain and the ceiling plate are all the same dark aged bronze. It is 24cm tall and 43.5cm across.

Three bulbs sit on a bar across the middle of the drum with the panes standing between them and the room, so light leaves sideways through the glass and downward through the open base. The glass is clear rather than frosted, so the bulbs show through it and their shape counts. At 43.5cm across and only 24cm deep it hangs low over a round dining table without blocking the view across it, and it fits a hallway where a deeper fitting would be in the way. It takes three E14 bulbs up to 40W each, it is dimmable, the flex runs 1.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The panes are recycled glass, each one pressed on its own, so the thickness and the pattern of the ripples differ from pane to pane. The frame is iron in an aged bronze finish. Bulbs are not included.

How many bulbs does it need?

Three, all E14, up to 40W each. They sit on a bar inside the drum and are not included.

Will the bulbs be visible?

Yes. The panes are clear, so the bulbs show through them from the side and directly from below through the open base.

Are the panes all the same?

No. Each pane is pressed on its own, so the thickness and the ripples in the glass differ from one to the next.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool, then wipe each pane with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the glass.
