Description

A round stool standing 75cm to the seat, with a padded leather top 30cm across on a single iron column. The column tapers outward at the foot into a domed circular plate, and a wide iron ring is welded round it about a third of the way up as a footrest. The iron is left bare, grey and mottled, with rust showing at the welds. The leather over the pad is smooth and uneven in tone, deeper at the piped edge where it has been drawn down over the seat and lighter across the middle.

At 75cm the seat is at bar height, well above a dining chair, and drawn up to a kitchen island it sits just under the counter top. The base is 30cm across with the column set in the middle of it, so the stool stands in a small circular footprint and there are no legs at the corners for a foot to catch. It does not swivel and the height is fixed.

The seat is goat leather over a pad and the column, the ring and the foot plate are iron. The leather is a by-product of herds farmed by local herdsmen. Narwana runs to armchairs, loungers, desk chairs, bar chairs and foot stools, and this round stool is also made in aged tan and in rich green.
