Description
The Morchino is a 55cm square side table with a natural marble top in white and grey tones, supported on a bronze-finish aluminium pedestal base. The marble is quarried from Rajasthan, India, and shows natural veining and tonal variation across the surface, meaning no two tables are identical. The pedestal consists of a tapered central column rising from a square bronze base plate, giving the 15.4kg table a low centre of gravity without requiring corner legs.
Designed for use beside sofas, armchairs and beds, the 45.5cm table height sits approximately level with standard sofa arms, making it practical for resting drinks, books, a table lamp or decorative objects. The 55cm square footprint fits into tighter spaces than a round table of equivalent surface area, while the pedestal base allows chairs or feet to tuck underneath the edges. The bronze aluminium base pairs with warm brass, copper and gold lighting and hardware across mid-century, contemporary and traditional interiors.
Morchino marble is a recrystallised limestone formed under high pressure and temperature over thousands of years, with minerals introduced during formation creating the characteristic grey and white veining. The marble surface is prone to scratching from sharp objects and to staining from acidic liquids (wine, citrus, vinegar), so coasters and placemats are recommended. The bronze finish on the aluminium base is a powder-coated or plated surface treatment applied over the metal, giving a warm metallic tone that resists corrosion better than raw brass.

Frequently Asked
Does the marble vary between individual tables?
Yes. Morchino marble is a natural material quarried from Rajasthan, so the veining, tonal balance and density differ between slabs and individual pieces cut from them. This variation is inherent to natural stone and considered a feature rather than a defect.
How should the marble be cleaned?
Wipe the marble with a soft, dry microfibre cloth for routine cleaning. For spills, blot immediately with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water. Do not use household sprays, acidic cleaners (lemon, vinegar-based products), or abrasive sponges, as marble is softer than granite and prone to etching and scratching.
Is the marble sealed?
Most natural marble side tables are not factory-sealed, leaving the stone porous. Sealing with a stone-specific sealer can reduce staining from liquids, but the sealer requires reapplication every 6-12 months depending on use. Contact Libra Interiors or a stone care specialist for sealing guidance specific to Morchino marble.
What other sizes are available in the Morchino range?
