Description

This round stoneware tray is really a deep-sided serving dish, 30cm across and 6cm tall, with room for 1550ml. That depth is what makes it more useful than a flat platter: sauces, dressings and juices stay where they belong, so it serves as a shallow dish as readily as a tray. Every part of the pattern is handpainted. A striped band runs round the rim and down the outer wall, a ring of painted cats, some striped and some spotted, circles the inner wall, and a dotted border frames a pinwheel at the centre. The whole piece is cheerful and multicoloured.

At 30cm across, it is a generous size for the middle of a dining table, ready for a tray bake, a pile of roasted vegetables, a leafy salad or a heap of fresh berries for everyone to share.
