Description
The Miel is a 38cm cast aluminium platter finished in champagne gold, with a raised honeycomb texture covering the surface and an irregular organic edge that mimics natural wax cell formations. The platter sits on three small feet that lift it 7cm above the surface it rests on, giving depth and shadow beneath the metalwork.
Designed as a decorative centrepiece rather than a functional serving piece, the Miel works on console tables, sideboards, coffee tables and dining tables where a textural metallic accent is needed. The honeycomb pattern catches light at different angles throughout the day, creating shifting highlights across the champagne gold surface. The platter can be used as a sculptural object on its own or as a base for displaying candles, botanicals or small decorative objects.
The casting process leaves each platter with slight variation in the depth and definition of the honeycomb cells, so no two pieces are identical. The champagne gold finish has a warm, slightly muted tone that sits between bright brass and antique gold, pairing well with both warm wood tones and cooler greys. At 0.9kg the platter has enough weight to feel substantial without being difficult to move or reposition.
This platter is part of the Miel collection from Libra Interiors, which includes matching photo frames and a smaller platter variant. The collection uses the same honeycomb motif and champagne gold finish across all pieces.

Frequently Asked
Is this platter food-safe?
No. The Miel is intended for decorative use only and should not be used to serve food or drink. The cast aluminium and surface finish are not certified for food contact.
How is the champagne gold finish maintained?
Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal polishes or chemical sprays, as these can strip or discolour the finish.
What size surface does it need?
The platter measures 38-39cm in diameter, so it needs a minimum 40cm square or circular surface to sit comfortably without overhanging. On a console table or sideboard, allow space around the platter for the organic edge to be fully visible.
Are there other pieces in the Miel collection?
Yes. The Miel collection includes two photo frames and a smaller platter, all using the same honeycomb motif and champagne gold finish. Use the search function to find other Miel pieces in stock at Niori.
