Description
The Knightsbridge M1G is a single-gang metal clad faceplate designed to house one 25x50mm euro-module insert. The 82mm square plate is pressed from premium-grade steel with a powder-coated silver finish and provides a robust mounting point for modular data, AV and communication outlets in workshops, garages, plant rooms and commercial installations.
Used alongside Knightsbridge euro-module inserts for HDMI, USB, RJ45 data, coaxial TV/SAT, and other low-voltage connections, the M1G allows installers to create custom outlet configurations without needing pre-configured gang plates. The metal construction suits environments where plastic faceplates would be vulnerable to impact or chemical exposure. The plate requires a standard 25mm back box and includes an earth terminal for Class I earthing where the wiring system demands it.
The powder-coated finish resists scratches and corrosion in light industrial and garage environments. At 4mm projection from the wall once fitted, the plate sits flush enough to avoid snagging on passing equipment or clothing. The 25-year warranty reflects the durability of the steel construction and powder coating under typical usage conditions. IP20 rating means the plate is suitable for dry indoor locations only — not bathrooms, outdoor installations or areas exposed to water ingress.

Frequently Asked
What euro-modules fit this faceplate?
Any Knightsbridge 25x50mm euro-module insert will fit, including HDMI, USB, RJ45 data, TV/SAT coaxial, speaker terminals, and blank modules. One module per faceplate. For multiple outlets in one location, use the 2-gang or 4-gang metal clad faceplates from the same range.
What back box depth is required?
A standard 25mm single-gang metal back box is required. The faceplate fixes to the back box with screws through the two visible fixing points shown in the image. The euro-module insert clips into the faceplate aperture from the front once the faceplate is mounted.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
No. The IP20 rating means the plate is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For outdoor or bathroom installations, use an IP-rated enclosure with appropriate glands for cable entry.
Why does it have an earth terminal?
The metal faceplate is Class I and must be earthed when installed. The earth terminal connects to the earth conductor in the wiring system, ensuring the exposed metal surface is at earth potential. This is a safety requirement for all exposed conductive parts in UK electrical installations.
