Description

The Messe is a 450mm-wide crystal table lamp built around three polished chrome wire stems that curve outward from a weighted dome base, each tipped with a faceted Asfour crystal sphere housing a G4 halogen bulb. The wire frame arcs in different directions, creating a sculptural silhouette that resembles a kinetic sketch in metal, with the crystal spheres positioned at varying heights across the 530mm overall height.

Designed for living room side tables, bedroom nightstands and hallway consoles where a decorative accent is wanted alongside functional light, the Messe balances visual presence with a relatively compact footprint. The three G4 bulbs (included) produce a combined 60W of warm halogen light that refracts through the cut crystal spheres, projecting patterns onto nearby walls and ceilings. An inline dimmer on the cable allows the brightness to be adjusted from full output down to a low glow without needing a wall dimmer switch.

The polished chrome finish on the wire frame and base gives high-reflectivity surfaces that amplify ambient light during the day, while the Asfour crystal spheres — precision-cut lead crystal known for optical clarity — create prismatic effects when the lamp is lit. The 2kg weight keeps the lamp stable on a side table despite the tall, narrow silhouette, and the weighted base prevents tipping if the cable is accidentally pulled. Is the Messe dimmable?

Yes. The lamp includes an inline dimmer on the cable, allowing brightness to be adjusted from full output to a low glow. This does not require a wall dimmer switch — the dimmer is built into the lamp's cable.

Can LED bulbs be used instead of halogen?

No. The Messe is designed for halogen G4 capsule bulbs only and is not compatible with LED or CFL equivalents. Using non-halogen bulbs may cause erratic dimming behaviour or damage the inline dimmer circuit.

What is Asfour crystal?

Asfour is a precision-cut lead crystal known for optical clarity and light refraction. The faceted spheres on the Messe catch and split light into prismatic patterns, creating the characteristic sparkle when the lamp is lit.

How stable is the lamp given its tall, narrow shape?

The weighted dome base and 2kg overall weight keep the lamp stable on flat surfaces. The base diameter provides enough footprint to prevent tipping under normal use, though care should be taken if the cable is pulled or if placed on an uneven surface.
