Description

Mesa Black is a console table built from double-sided reversible mirrored glass in a black metal frame. It stands 85cm high, 100cm wide and 35cm deep, and the glass is black on one face and grey on the other, so the table can be turned round to show whichever suits the room. The frame is slim black metal and the whole piece reads as light for its footprint, with the glass doing most of the visual work rather than the structure.

It works behind a sofa, along a hallway, or against a wall in a dining room where a narrow surface is wanted rather than a deep one. Rubber protective feet are fitted, so it can stand on a hard floor without marking it, and it is rated bathroom proof, which makes it usable in a wet room as well as a living space. It weighs 13KG and arrives assembled, so there is nothing to build before it is put in position. The 35cm depth is enough for lamps, books or a tray without the table projecting far into a walkway.

The materials are mirrored glass, a black metal frame and the rubber feet, made in Belgium to a design by Annemie Vanzieleghem, and we cover it for seven years. Because the glass is reversible you are effectively buying two finishes in one piece, which is useful if you expect the room around it to change. Where the stocked size is not right, it can be made to order from 25 pieces.
