Description
This merry-go-round candle holder is made for Christmas: a single carousel horse, caught mid-leap, rides a slim rod that rises from a round, striped base to a bell-shaped candle cup with a small ball beneath it. It is made of polyresin and iron, and the finish is painted by hand, picking out the saddle, bridle, mane, tail and hooves. The whole piece is multicoloured, 7cm across and 20cm tall, and weighs just 0.25KG, so it is easy to lift and move from room to room as you dress the house for the season.
It suits a windowsill, a sideboard or a dining table, and it looks as much at home among wrapped presents and sprigs of greenery as it does standing on its own. The base is only 7cm across, so it fits a narrow sill or the edge of a shelf where a wider candle holder would crowd the space. The carousel horse is a fond nod to the fairground, and it suits anyone who decorates for Christmas with a sense of fun, or who wants one small, cheerful piece that comes out again every December.
Polyresin is a material that holds fine moulded detail well, and here it is paired with iron. Because the finish is handpainted, the brushwork differs slightly from one piece to the next, so yours will have its own small character. The cup at the top takes a slim dinner candle, and the styling props shown are not included, the candle among them. For the prettiest result, choose a plain taper in one soft shade so the horse stays the centre of attention, and set it beside a sprig of fir or a stack of wrapped presents.

Frequently Asked
What is the merry-go-round candle holder made of?
It is made of polyresin and iron, with a handpainted finish that picks out the horse, its saddle and the striped base.
How big is it?
It is 7cm across and 20cm tall and weighs 0.25KG, small enough for a windowsill, a narrow shelf or a sideboard.
Does it come with a candle?
No. You receive the candle holder on its own; the candle and the other styling props shown are not included.
Will mine look exactly the same as every other one?
Not exactly. The finish is handpainted, so the brushwork on the horse and the striped base varies slightly from one piece to the next.
Is it a Christmas decoration?
Yes, it is made as a Christmas piece, and the carousel horse suits festive table settings, windowsills and sideboards through December and beyond.
