Description

This is a large globe bulb in clear glass, 12.5cm across and 17.5cm tall, finished with a brass screw cap. Through the glass you can see the whole of its inner workings: a slim glass stem rising from the cap and, around it, fine filament strips that cross one another in a loose lattice. Because the globe is clear rather than frosted, those filaments are the point of the bulb, and they read like a small line drawing even when the light is off. It is a bulb made to be seen rather than hidden.

It belongs wherever the bulb is on show: a bare pendant on a fabric flex, a wall light with an open cage, or a table lamp without a shade. Over a dining table or a desk it gives the room a single point of interest, and in a hallway or on a landing it makes a plain ceiling rose look deliberate.
