Description

This is a Christmas centrepiece in seven pieces: a round iron tray 30cm across and six gold candle holders that stand on it, four slim tubes in different heights and two short cups. At 8cm tall the set itself stays low, so it never blocks the view across a dinner table and the candles you choose supply the height. The tray has a shallow raised rim and a speckled, textured surface, while the holders are smooth, so the two finishes play off each other in the same warm gold.

It belongs in the middle of a dining table or a sideboard through December. Because the holders are separate pieces, you can arrange them however the occasion asks: all six together, four for the weeks before Christmas, or a loose line around the rim. Each tube takes a dinner candle, and the two short cups sit lower among whatever you add. Fill the spaces with pine cones, sprigs of spruce, moss or a couple of baubles and the whole arrangement lives on one tray. Out of season, lift the holders off and the tray works on its own as a shallow display piece for a coffee table or a hallway console.

Every piece is iron, and the tray is powder-coated. Powder coating is fused onto the metal with heat rather than brushed on like paint, which makes it a tough finish for a surface that sees plenty of handling. The full set weighs 0.6KG, so it is easy to lift and move between rooms.
