Our Maris side table is a slim, round piece in brass-coloured aluminium. It is made as a single stem that rises from a broad, rounded foot to a flat top with a shallow raised rim. The metal has a mottled, softly aged surface rather than a mirror shine. It is 30cm across and 51cm tall, a compact size that fits beside a chair without taking over the floor. By composition it is 83% aluminium, 15.5% iron and 1.5% MDF, and it weighs 2.4KG. Aluminium is a light metal, so the table is easy to lift and move from one room to another as your needs change.

The top is small, so treat it as a perch rather than a work surface. There is room for a candlestick, a paperback or two, your phone and a small vase.
