Manua Large Wood Table Lamp Base - Dark Stain

The Manua is a lamp base turned in mango wood and stained a dark brown, with the grain still showing through the colour and the turned edges coming up lighter than the hollows. Three rounded swellings sit one above the other, each divided by a narrow ring, and the stack rises from a stepped disc foot to a slim neck. A brass collar and a black lampholder sit above that. It is 50cm tall and 13.5cm across the foot, and a brown braided cord runs from the base with a switch on it.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 50cm before a shade goes on it is tall for a bedside table and better placed on a console, a sideboard or a hall table. The switch is on the cord rather than on the base, so the cord needs to run out to the side where it can be reached rather than straight down behind the furniture. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the cord runs 2.5m, the plug is UK and EU, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The wood is mango, taken from trees that have stopped bearing fruit, and the form is turned rather than carved, so the profile runs true all the way round. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included; the Dia jute shade is sold separately.

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, with a brass collar and a black lampholder on top. The Dia jute shade is sold separately.

Is there a switch on the cord?

Yes. The switch sits on the 2.5m cord, so the lamp is switched at the cord rather than at the socket.

What bulb does it take?

One E27, up to 60W. No bulb is included.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it first, then wipe it with a soft dry cloth to keep dust off. Keep abrasives and harsh chemical cleaners away from the finish.
