Description

The Maliki is an indoor plant pot formed from iron and finished in aged bronze, 18cm tall and 24cm across at its widest. The wall curves out from a narrow foot to a full belly a little above half height, then turns back in and finishes at a straight rim with an opening 20cm across. The bronze is dark and warm rather than flat black, deepening at the foot and lifting to a coppery tone where the curve catches the light, and the inside carries the same finish as the outside.

This is the small of three sizes in the range. The three sizes step up in height when they are grouped. One on its own suits a windowsill, a shelf or the corner of a side table. The dark surface reads as a plain ground behind green leaves.

The pot is formed from rolled iron sheet by traditional metalworking and then finished in aged bronze, so the colour sits on the metal rather than being the tone of the metal itself. It weighs 0.92kg empty. Indoor use only.
