Description
A wide, shallow stoneware bowl, 19.5cm across and 5cm deep. It is thrown on a wheel, and the rim runs a little out of true rather than perfectly round. The inside is covered in fine lines running from a plain centre out to the edge, set close enough together to read as texture. A dark brown line sits along the rim where the glaze has drawn thin, and the cream outside is mottled through with grey and green.
The bowl holds 615ml, which makes it a bowl for one person rather than one to serve from; the Malia range holds a separate serving bowl for that. Three will stack together. The foot underneath is narrow and left unglazed, and the sides flare out from it.
The bowl is stoneware, thrown on a wheel and then glazed. The glaze is reactive, which means it moves and shifts in the firing, so the cream comes out mottled and the dark rim line falls differently on every piece. The lines inside the well are painted by hand. The Malia range also holds dinner and side plates, a jug, a mug, a teapot and a cup and saucer.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
19.5cm across and 5cm deep, holding 615ml.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, and it is listed as food safe.
Will every bowl look the same?
Close, but not exactly. The glaze is reactive and changes in the firing, so the mottling and the dark rim line fall differently on every bowl.
How do I look after it?
Wash it after every use so that it does not stain, using a mild detergent, and do not leave it to soak. It is dishwasher safe. Handle it with care, as stoneware chips.
What else is in the Malia range?
Dinner and side plates, a serving bowl, a breakfast bowl, a jug, a mug, a teapot, an oval platter and a cup and saucer.
