Description

This is a set of seven small stoneware vases, each finished in a speckled glaze, and together they make a multicoloured row that looks gathered over time rather than bought in one go. The shapes vary from piece to piece: some are tall bottles with long, slender necks, while others are short and rounded with a narrow mouth. The maker gives the size as 14cm tall and 7cm across, so think of them as bud vases for a single stem or a small sprig rather than vessels for a full bunch of flowers.

Their small scale suits the places where a larger vase would crowd things: a bookshelf, a mantelpiece, a windowsill, a side table or the corner of a desk. Line all seven along a shelf for a run of different heights and shapes, or split them up around the house, three on a dining table, two on a bedside table and two in the hallway.
