Description

The MagDuo is a 2-wire fire alarm sounder and strobe combined in a single 150mm domed unit with a red translucent lens. The unit draws power from a two-wire conventional alarm circuit, providing both audible and visual alarm signalling without needing separate power feeds. Three selectable sounder modes allow the tone to be configured during installation to match site requirements.

Designed for commercial, industrial and residential fire alarm installations, the MagDuo mounts on a standard European alarm device wiring base (included) and carries an IP21C ingress rating for indoor use. The domed profile sits 80mm proud of the wall or ceiling once fitted. The built-in end-of-line function simplifies wiring on conventional alarm zones by eliminating the need for separate EOL resistors at the final device.

The red LED strobe provides high-visibility warning alongside the audible alarm, meeting requirements for mixed-occupancy environments where hearing-impaired occupants need visual alert signals. Volume adjustment allows the sounder output to be calibrated during commissioning to suit room acoustics and occupancy density. The white polycarbonate base and red lens give the unit clear visual presence on white ceilings and lighter-coloured walls.

What does 2-wire operation mean?

The MagDuo draws both power and alarm trigger signal from the same two-wire conventional fire alarm circuit. This simplifies installation compared to 4-wire devices that need separate power and trigger feeds.

What are the three sounder modes?

The unit offers three selectable alarm tones configurable via DIP switches or jumpers inside the base during installation. The specific tone patterns are detailed in the product manual (see Downloads tab).

Is the volume adjustable after installation?

Yes. The volume control is accessible during commissioning and can be adjusted to suit room size and background noise levels. Once the cover is fitted, adjustment requires removing the red lens dome.

What is the IP21C rating?

IP21C indicates protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and vertically falling water drops, plus additional protection against access by fingers. The unit is suitable for dry indoor environments but not for outdoor or wet locations.
