Description

The LYYT IP65 24V COB LED strip is a 5-metre continuous-run flexible LED tape delivering cool white 6500K light through 528 LEDs per metre, mounted in chip-on-board configuration. The COB arrangement places the LED chips at 2mm intervals along the strip, creating a seamless line of light without visible hotspots or gaps. The IP65 silicone coating protects the LEDs and circuit from water ingress and dust, allowing the strip to be used in bathrooms, outdoor covered installations, and other damp environments.

Designed for cove lighting, under-cabinet runs, shelving accent, stair nosing, architectural reveals and outdoor signage, the strip runs on 24V DC low-voltage power and consumes 12W per metre. The self-adhesive backing fixes the strip to clean, dry surfaces, and the tape can be cut at marked intervals every 45.45mm to fit exact run lengths. A 120° beam angle provides wide light spread, making the strip effective for both direct and indirect lighting applications where wall-washing or diffused ambient light is needed.

The flexible 12mm-wide by 4mm-deep cross-section allows the strip to bend around curves, corners and inside channel profiles without cracking the LEDs or the circuit. The 6500K colour temperature produces a bright cool white that suits task lighting in kitchens, workshops, retail display and commercial signage more than warm-toned residential spaces. The Ra>90 CRI rating renders colours accurately under the strip's light, useful for product display, photography lighting and makeup mirrors.

Each 5m reel draws 2.5A at 24V DC, requiring a suitable 24V LED driver rated for at least 60W (sold separately). The driver must be IP-rated to match the installation environment if placed in a damp location alongside the strip.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. The strip has marked cut points every 45.45mm along its length, allowing it to be trimmed with scissors to fit exact run lengths. Cutting outside the marked intervals damages the circuit and renders that section non-functional.

Is the strip waterproof?

The IP65 rating protects against water jets and dust, making the strip suitable for bathrooms, outdoor covered installations, and kitchen splashback areas. It is not submersible and should not be installed where it will be fully immersed or exposed to standing water.

What does 6500K cool white look like?

6500K is a bright, cool-toned white similar to daylight or office fluorescent lighting. It suits task lighting in kitchens, workshops, retail and commercial signage more than warm-toned living spaces. For warmer residential interiors, a 3000K or 4000K variant would be more appropriate.
