Description

The LYYT 24V LED strip is a 5m reel of warm white (3000K) LED tape with 120 Epistar SMD3528 LEDs per metre, delivering 720 lumens per metre. The strip runs on 24V DC at 9.6W per metre and features an IP65 epoxy coating that protects the LEDs from water splashes and dust ingress. A self-adhesive backing on the underside allows the strip to be fixed directly to clean, dry surfaces without additional fixing methods.

Designed for under-cabinet lighting, cove lighting, retail display shelving, hospitality accent lighting and architectural wash lighting, the strip can be cut to length at 5cm intervals along the marked cut points. The 24V operation reduces voltage drop over longer runs compared to 12V strips, making it suitable for continuous runs of up to 5m without needing additional power injection. The 140° beam angle spreads light evenly across surfaces, avoiding hot spots or visible individual LED points when diffused or reflected.

Each LED is spaced 8mm apart, giving a near-continuous line of light when installed. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white tone comparable to traditional halogen accent lighting, sitting between the cooler 4000K daylight white and the more amber 2700K domestic tungsten. The strip cross-section is 10.3mm wide and 2.55mm thick, allowing it to fit into slim aluminium extrusion profiles typically used for LED strip installation in joinery and fit-out projects. The 210g weight of the full 5m reel is light enough for the adhesive backing to support the strip on vertical surfaces when properly prepared.

The IP65 rating means the epoxy coating is sealed against low-pressure water jets and dust, making the strip suitable for kitchens, bathrooms (zones 2 and 3) and semi-outdoor locations such as covered porches or canopies. The strip requires a separate 24V DC LED driver (sold separately) rated to supply at least 48W for the full 5m reel, or proportionally less for shorter cut lengths.

What power supply does it need?

The strip requires a separate 24V DC LED driver. For the full 5m reel drawing 9.6W per metre, you need a driver rated at least 48W. Shorter cut lengths need proportionally less. The driver is sold separately.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP65 epoxy coating provides water resistance suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower enclosure and bath surround). It is not rated for direct immersion or use inside zone 0 or 1.

Where can the strip be cut?

The strip has marked cut points every 5cm along its length. Cutting outside these marks will damage the circuit. Each 5cm section contains six LEDs and draws 0.48W.

Is the strip dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable 24V DC LED driver and a compatible dimmer control. The strip itself has no built-in dimming — dimming functionality depends entirely on the driver and control system used.
