Description

The LYYT 24V COB RGB LED strip light delivers continuous colour-changing illumination from 840 LEDs per metre mounted on a chip-on-board substrate, creating a seamless line of light without visible diode gaps. The 5m reel runs on 24V DC and consumes 11.64W per metre, drawing 485mA per metre. Male and female 4-pin connectors are pre-fitted at each end for RGB controller connection.

Designed for indoor accent lighting, entertainment spaces, retail displays and under-cabinet installations, the strip is cuttable at 50mm intervals to fit specific run lengths. The self-adhesive backing bonds to clean, dry surfaces such as aluminium channel, plastered walls and the underside of kitchen cabinets. The IP20 rating confines the strip to dry indoor locations away from moisture or dust.

The COB construction places 840 individual Sanan LEDs per metre at 0.97mm spacing, creating a continuous ribbon of red, green and blue light without the dotted appearance of standard LED strips. The 120° beam angle throws light broadly across the surface behind the strip, reducing hotspotting. The strip's 10mm width and 2.2mm thickness allow it to fit narrow channels and tight mounting spaces, while the flexible silicone substrate bends around corners and curves.

The 24V operating voltage delivers higher efficiency than 12V strips on runs over 3m, reducing voltage drop and colour shift at the far end of the reel. The 100lm/w efficacy and CRI Ra >80 rating provide saturated RGB colour mixing suitable for mood lighting, party installations and commercial display lighting where accurate colour rendering is less critical than visual impact.

The 5m reel draws approximately 58W total (11.64W per metre), so a 24V DC power supply rated at 60-75W is required. The strip uses 4-pin connectors for RGB control, meaning the power supply must connect via an RGB controller rather than directly to the strip.

Can the strip be cut to fit a shorter run?

Yes. The strip can be cut at 50mm intervals along its length. Cut marks are printed on the strip substrate. After cutting, soldering or additional connectors are needed to reconnect power and control to the new end.

Where can this strip be used?

The IP20 rating limits the strip to dry indoor locations only. Suitable applications include under-cabinet lighting, behind TVs, in entertainment units, along skirting boards, inside wardrobes and in retail display cases. Do not use in bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs, or outdoors.
