Description
The LYYT 24V COB LED strip light uses chip-on-board technology to pack 528 individual LEDs per metre onto a flexible 10mm-wide silicone strip, creating continuous 6500K cool white illumination with no visible individual LED spots. The 5m reel runs on 24V DC supply at 12W per metre and includes self-adhesive backing for direct application to clean, dry surfaces.
Designed for indoor commercial and residential installations where clean, shadowless task lighting is needed, the strip suits under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, workbench illumination in workshops, retail shelf lighting, and office cove or pelmet installations. The 180-degree beam angle throws light forward from the strip face, making it effective when mounted along shelving edges, cabinet bases, or architectural recesses. The strip can be cut at 45.45mm intervals to fit exact run lengths without waste.
The CRI Ra>90 rating means colours appear accurate under this light source, which matters for food preparation areas, retail displays showing product colour variation, and workspaces where colour matching is part of the task. The 6500K colour temperature produces a blue-toned cool white that reads as clinical and bright, commonly specified in technical environments and modern office fit-outs. The IP20 rating limits the strip to dry indoor locations only — it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or anywhere moisture is present.
The silicone construction makes the strip flexible enough to follow gentle curves and corners, though the adhesive backing performs best on flat runs. Power consumption across the full 5m reel totals 60W, requiring a compatible 24V DC LED driver rated at 60W minimum (sold separately). The strip arrives pre-wired at one end with connection leads for the driver.

Frequently Asked
What driver does this strip need?
The full 5m reel draws 60W at 24V DC, so a 24V LED driver rated at 60W minimum is required. If you cut the strip shorter, calculate power requirement by multiplying the cut length in metres by 12W per metre and use a driver rated at least 20% above that figure.
Can this be dimmed?
Yes, but dimming requires a dimmable 24V LED driver compatible with your dimmer switch. The strip itself does not contain dimming electronics — dimming control happens at the driver.
What does COB mean and why does it matter?
COB stands for chip-on-board, where many small LED chips sit directly on the strip substrate with minimal spacing between them. This produces continuous linear light with no visible individual LED dots, unlike traditional LED tape where you can see each diode as a separate bright spot.
Can this be used in a bathroom or kitchen splashback?
No. The IP20 rating means the strip has no moisture protection and must be installed in dry indoor locations only. For wet or damp environments you need an IP65 or IP67 rated strip with silicone sleeve protection.
