Description
The LYYT 24V COB LED strip delivers 2000K very warm white light from 528 LEDs per metre arranged in a continuous chip-on-board configuration on a 5m flexible reel. A phosphor coating over the LED array creates a diffused, spot-free light output with a colour rendering index above 90, reproducing colour accurately under the warm amber tone. The strip operates on 24Vdc at 12W per metre and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor environments.
Designed for hospitality interiors, residential accent lighting and installations where a soft candlelight-equivalent tone is needed, the strip suits cove lighting around bars and restaurants, under-cabinet runs in kitchens seeking a warm glow, and architectural details in living spaces. The 180-degree beam angle casts light in a wide horizontal spread when mounted in channels or along shelving. The self-adhesive backing fixes to clean, dry surfaces without additional mounting hardware, though many installers still use aluminium channels for heat dissipation and cleaner edge profiles.
The strip can be cut at 45.45mm intervals along marked lines, allowing exact length matching to alcoves, shelves and architectural features without wastage. Each cut section requires soldering or connector blocks to rejoin power feeds. At 10mm wide and 2mm thick, the strip fits recessed channels designed for standard LED tape and flexes around curves with a minimum bend radius of approximately 50mm. The 24Vdc operating voltage requires a suitable LED driver (sold separately) sized to the total installed metreage.

Frequently Asked
What is 2000K colour temperature equivalent to?
2000K produces a very warm amber-orange tone similar to candlelight or the last hour of sunset. It is warmer than standard warm white (2700-3000K) and creates a distinctly cosy, intimate atmosphere rather than functional task lighting.
Can the strip be dimmed?
Yes, when paired with a dimmable 24Vdc LED driver. The driver must support PWM or 0-10V dimming protocols depending on the control system being used. The strip itself does not contain dimming circuitry.
What power supply is needed for the full 5m reel?
The full 5m reel draws 60W (12W per metre × 5m). A 24Vdc LED driver rated at 75W or higher is recommended to allow headroom. The driver is sold separately and must be matched to the total installed length.
Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the strip is not protected against moisture or water ingress. It is suitable only for dry indoor locations away from splashes, condensation and damp.
