Description

The LYYT 230V IP44 LED rope light is a 45m reel of orange LED rope supplied on a grey spool, with rice-style LED bulbs positioned every 27.7mm inside 13mm diameter flexible clear plastic tubing. The rope runs on mains 230V 50Hz and delivers 16.4W per metre through 36 bulbs per metre, producing a continuous orange glow along the length. The IP44 rating allows outdoor use in rain and damp conditions where the rope is protected from direct water jets.

Designed for commercial displays, signage borders, architectural accent lighting, festive decoration and event installations, the rope can be cut only at marked 1m intervals to fit specific lengths. Each cut length requires a power connector lead (part 153.624UK, sold separately) to connect to mains supply. Up to two 45m rolls can be connected end-to-end for extended runs of up to 90m, provided the total wattage remains within safe limits for the supply circuit. The rope must be fully uncoiled from the spool before connection and use to prevent heat build-up.

The 13mm tubing has a 60mm minimum bending radius, allowing tight curves around architectural features, signage edges and display frameworks without kinking or damaging the internal LED circuit. The orange plastic is UV-resistant for outdoor longevity and the rice bulbs are rated for 25,000 hours of continuous operation. The rope is dimmable when paired with a compatible mains dimmer, allowing brightness adjustment for different times of day or event requirements.

The temperature range of -20°C to 80°C allows year-round outdoor installation in UK climates without performance degradation. The spool format simplifies handling and storage for professional installers working on multi-site contracts or seasonal decoration programmes.

Can the rope be cut to custom lengths?

The rope can only be cut at marked 1m intervals. Cutting between the marked points will damage the circuit and prevent the cut section from working. Each cut length requires a separate power connector lead (part 153.624UK) to connect to mains supply.

Is it safe to use outdoors?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects the rope from rain and outdoor damp, provided it is not submerged or subjected to direct water jets. The operating temperature range of -20°C to 80°C allows year-round outdoor installation in UK climates.

Does it need to be fully uncoiled before use?

Yes. The rope must be completely uncoiled from the spool before connecting to mains power. Leaving it coiled creates heat build-up from the combined wattage of multiple metres in close proximity, which can damage the tubing and the LED circuit.

How many rolls can be connected together?

Up to two 45m rolls can be connected end-to-end, giving a maximum continuous run of 90m. The combined wattage (45m × 16.4W/m = 738W per roll) must be within the safe capacity of the supply circuit and any dimmer used.
