Description

The LYYT 230V IP44 green LED rope light is supplied as a 45m reel containing 36 rice-bulb LEDs per metre spaced at 27.7mm intervals inside a 13mm diameter flexible plastic tube. The rope runs directly on 230V mains power via a dedicated power connector lead (153.624UK, sold separately) and can be cut at 1m intervals marked along its length to suit installation requirements.

Designed for commercial signage, architectural accent lighting, garden perimeters, stage decoration and festive installations where a continuous green line of light is needed outdoors or in damp indoor environments. The IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water from any direction, making the rope suitable for outdoor mounting under eaves, along building facades, around garden decking and on exterior signage where it will not be fully submerged. The rope must be fully uncoiled before connection to prevent heat buildup, and up to two 45m reels can be connected in series from a single power lead.

The rice-bulb LED configuration delivers a bright, uniform green glow through the translucent plastic tube, and the rope is dimmable when paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. The 60mm minimum bending radius allows the rope to be shaped around corners and architectural features without kinking the tube or damaging the internal wiring. Operating temperature range of -20°C to +80°C covers most UK outdoor conditions year-round. At 16.4W per metre, a full 45m reel draws approximately 738W on full brightness.

Can it be cut to shorter lengths?

Yes, but only at the 1m cutting points marked along the rope. Cutting anywhere else will damage the internal wiring and void the warranty. Each cut section requires its own power connector lead to operate.

What power connector is needed?

The rope requires the LYYT power connector lead (SKU 153.624UK), sold separately. This converts UK mains to the appropriate voltage and connects to the rope's input end.

Is it suitable for permanent outdoor installation?

The IP44 rating provides splash-proof protection for outdoor use under eaves, on walls, and in gardens where the rope will not be submerged or exposed to direct heavy rain. For ground-level installations or areas with standing water, additional protection or a higher IP rating is recommended.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the rope is dimmable when used with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Check that the dimmer is rated for the total wattage of the connected rope length (16.4W per metre).
