Description

The LYYT 230V IP44 Blue LED Rope Light comes on a 45m reel of flexible 13mm-diameter tube containing 36 rice-style LEDs per metre, spaced every 27.7mm. The blue LEDs operate directly on 230V mains power and sit inside a UV-resistant clear plastic tube rated to IP44 for outdoor weatherproofing. The rope can only be cut at marked 1m intervals, which define where the internal circuitry allows safe disconnection.

Designed for commercial signage, event installations, architectural outlining and seasonal displays where long continuous runs are needed, the rope light flexes around corners with a minimum bending radius of 60mm and tolerates temperatures from -20°C to 80°C. Power connection requires a separate connector lead (product code 153.624UK), which is not supplied with the reel. Up to two reels can be connected in series, extending coverage to 90m on a single circuit. The rope must be fully uncoiled before switching on to avoid heat build-up.

The 16.4W per metre rating gives approximately 738W for a full 45m reel, making the load manageable on standard UK sockets via an appropriate connector. The dimmable LEDs work with trailing-edge 230V dimmers where gradual intensity control is needed for stage lighting or retail displays. The 25,000-hour lamp life reduces maintenance requirements over multi-year outdoor installations where accessing the rope would be difficult.

Can this rope light be cut to custom lengths?

The rope can only be cut at marked 1m intervals. Cutting anywhere else damages the internal circuitry and voids the IP44 seal. Measure your run and round up to the nearest metre, then cut at the marked point.

What connector is needed to power it?

A separate power connector lead (product code 153.624UK) is required to connect the rope to 230V mains. This is sold separately and not included with the reel.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The rope works with trailing-edge 230V dimmers. Compatibility depends on the dimmer model — test with a short section before committing to a full installation if dimming is required.

Can multiple reels be joined?

Up to two reels (90m total) can be connected in series on a single circuit. Linking more than two reels exceeds the safe load and may cause overheating or tripping the circuit.
