Description

The LYYT 12V amber LED strip light delivers 5 metres of flexible tape fitted with 60 SMD3528 LEDs per metre, each emitting a warm amber glow at 600mcd per LED. The strip operates on 12V DC and draws 4.8W per metre, with an IP65 epoxy coating that protects the LEDs and circuitry from dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for indoor and semi-protected outdoor use.

Designed for accent lighting in bars, hospitality venues, vehicle interiors, signage and retail displays, the strip can be cut at 5cm intervals to fit specific run lengths without wasting excess tape. The self-adhesive backing fixes the strip to clean, dry surfaces including walls, furniture edges, under-counter runs and display shelving. The 140° beam angle from each LED provides wide light dispersion, reducing hotspots when the strip is mounted close to reflective surfaces.

The 10.5mm width and 2.55mm thickness allow the strip to be routed through tight spaces and around corners without kinking. At 210g for the full 5m reel, the strip adds negligible weight to installations and can be mounted on lightweight materials. The amber LEDs produce 45 lumens per metre, intended for decorative and accent use rather than primary task lighting. Operating at 12V DC requires a compatible power supply (sold separately) rated for at least 24W to drive the full 5m length.

Each LED is spaced 16mm apart on the flexible PCB, providing consistent light distribution along the run. The strip carries a 50,000-hour rated lifespan under normal operating conditions, reducing the frequency of replacement in permanent installations. Connection accessories are included with the reel for joining the strip to a 12V power source.

What power supply is needed?

The strip requires a 12V DC power supply rated for at least 24W to drive the full 5m length at 4.8W per metre. Power supplies are sold separately. Check the specification tab for current draw if using a shorter cut section.

Can the strip be cut to a specific length?

Yes. The strip can be cut at marked 5cm intervals along its length. Cutting between these marks will damage the circuitry and prevent the cut section from working. Connection accessories are included to rejoin cut sections to the power source.

What does IP65 mean for this strip?

IP65 means the epoxy coating protects the strip from dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It can handle splashes and damp environments but is not suitable for submersion or prolonged exposure to rain.

Is the amber colour warm or cool in tone?

The amber output is a warm yellow-orange tone, closer to a sunset or stage gel colour than the neutral yellows found in some signage LEDs. It provides decorative accent rather than functional task lighting.
