Description
This low coffee table is made entirely of rubberwood, with a curved kidney outline and three thick, cylindrical legs. It measures 65cm long, 44cm wide and 40cm tall, so it is a compact piece rather than a large centre table. It is big enough for a lamp, a few books and a small plant, yet small enough for a narrow living room or a flat where floor space counts. One long side curves inward, which softens the whole outline, and its beige wood shows a clear grain across the top.
We like it in front of a sofa, where it gives a low surface within easy reach for a reading lamp, magazines or the remote. At 40cm tall it also works at the end of a sofa or beside an armchair as a side table, and in a bedroom it can stand next to a reading chair. It carries up to 20KG, which settles what it holds: books, a tray, a vase or a potted plant all sit comfortably within that. At 6.1KG it is easy for one person to lift and move when you rearrange the room or clear space for guests.
The rubberwood is finished in a matt lacquer, so the top has a soft, low-sheen surface rather than a gloss. Rubberwood is a close-grained hardwood, and as a natural timber its grain varies from one piece to the next, so no two tables look quite the same. Care is simple: wipe it clean with a moist cloth and, where needed, the maker recommends a wood oil or wax. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download. For styling, let the curve lead: pair it with a textured rug, keep the top uncluttered with a short stack of books and one or two objects, and the shape stays clear. The styling props shown are not included.
