Linsy Large Ribbed Glass Vase - Clear

The Linsy is a ribbed glass vase, 40cm high and 25cm across, with an ovoid body that swells from a narrow base to its widest point at the middle and then draws in sharply to a short collar. Close vertical ribs run the full height of the body and stop where the collar begins. The glass is clear and carries small bubbles and seeds through it, and the rim of the collar is wavy rather than level.

The opening is 10cm across against a 25cm body, so stems gather into the neck and stand upright instead of falling open against the sides. At 40cm high this is a vase for long stems such as olive branches, and a smaller Linsy is made alongside it. The ribs break up whatever sits behind them, so stem ends and the waterline read as texture rather than as a hard line across the glass.

The vase is glass. It begins as recycled glass, collected and washed to take out impurities, then crushed, melted and hand-blown into a mould, and it is finished with a lustre coating that leaves a slight sheen. The bubbles come out of that process, so no two vases carry them in the same places. The Linsy is made in two sizes and in a smoke brown as well as this clear.

Yes. The waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is blown into a mould.

Why are there bubbles in the glass?

They come from the recycled glass and from the blowing, and they fall differently in every vase.

Can it hold fresh flowers?

It holds fresh flowers and seasonal stems.

How do I look after it?

Wipe it over with a soft, damp cloth. When it needs more than that, hand wash it with a mild dish soap and do not leave it to soak.
