Description
Our Limone teapot is shaped like a whole lemon. The round yellow stoneware body carries a dimpled lemon on the lid, and two more sculpted lemons with their leaves cluster where the handle joins the pot. The spout and handle are modelled as branches, so the whole piece reads like fruit still on the tree. It holds 730ml, a pot for a small table rather than a crowd, and it measures 21cm across and 14cm tall, weighing 0.56KG.
This is a teapot for unhurried moments: a pot brewed at the kitchen table, a tray carried into the garden on a warm afternoon, or a weekend breakfast laid out for two. Stoneware holds heat well, which suits a pot left on the table while the conversation carries on. There is no strainer inside, so tea bags are the simplest choice; for loose leaf tea, pour through a separate strainer held over the cup. Between pots it is cheerful enough to stay out on an open kitchen shelf, and it makes a thoughtful present for anyone who loves a sunny breakfast table or a lemon motif.
The teapot is made from 100% stoneware with a glossy finish, and part of each one is decorated by hand. Care is easy: it goes in the dishwasher, and it can also go in the microwave and the oven. The lid lifts off for filling and rinsing. For styling, give it plenty of plain space: a pale linen cloth, simple cups and a small bowl of fresh lemons let the sculpted fruit on the lid and handle take the lead.
