Description
A jewellery stand 16cm tall and 17cm wide: one upright carrying two crossbars, one above the other, each bar finishing in a flattened paddle at both tips. The upright rises out of a shallow round dish that forms the whole of the base. The metal is hammered along its length, so the surface is faceted and slightly uneven, and the antique brass finish sits brighter on the raised faces and darker in the hollows.
The two bars take chains, bracelets and hoops, dropped over the middle and held on by the paddles at the ends, while the dish below holds rings and studs so the small pieces stay with the rest. At 16cm it fits on a dressing table, a bathroom shelf or a bedside table, and the upper bar takes earrings while the lower one takes a bangle. A taller stand is made at 26cm for longer chains.
The stand is iron under an antique brass finish, worked and hammered by hand, so the taper of each bar and the shape of the paddles at the ends are different on every one. The base is a single shallow dish with nothing to fix or assemble, and at 0.235kg the whole thing is light enough to move along a shelf with one hand.

Frequently Asked
How many bars does it have?
Two, one above the other, each with a flattened paddle at either end to stop things sliding off.
What is the dish at the bottom for?
Rings and studs, and anything else too small to hang.
How big is it?
16cm tall, 17cm wide and 9cm deep.
Does it come in another size?
Yes. There is a taller stand at 26cm.
How do I look after it?
A soft dry cloth over it regularly lifts any dust that settles in the hammering. If it needs more than that, hand wash it with a mild dish soap, rinse it in clean water and dry it gently. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish.
