Description

The Liman is a jewellery stand in iron with an antique brass finish, 26cm tall. One upright rises from a shallow round dish and carries two crossbars, one at the top and one part way down, each a slim rod that flattens out into a rounded paddle at both ends. The metal is hammered along its length and the brass sits unevenly over it, lighter where the surface stands proud.

The two bars take necklaces and chains at two different lengths, so a long chain does not fall across a short one, and the flattened ends hold anything hung over them from sliding off. Bangles go over the upper bar and earrings hook over either. The dish at the foot takes rings and studs. At 26cm tall and 11cm deep it stands on a dressing table, a chest of drawers or a bathroom shelf without taking much room.

The stand is iron, finished in antique brass. The surface is left textured rather than polished, so the marks of the making stay in it and the brass reads differently on every piece. The Liman jewellery stand is also made in a small.
