Description

This is a set of two marble candle holders, each a solid piece of marble shaped into a low, flowing wave. The longer holder is 25cm long, 4cm wide and 10cm tall, rising into a curved arch with an open loop at one end; the shorter is 15cm long, 4cm wide and 7cm tall, with a small dip before its rounded crest. Along their tops, the longer piece takes three slim taper candles and the shorter takes two, so together they make a long, low line of flame along a narrow base. The grey marble carries soft, cloudy veining across every face.

At just 4cm wide, they suit the places where a wide candelabra will not fit: a slim mantelpiece, a windowsill, a bookshelf edge or the middle of a dining table where plates and glasses need the room. Set them end to end and the two curves read as one continuous wave; split them, and the longer holder can anchor a sideboard while the shorter sits on a coffee table or bedside table. They suit anyone who likes candlelight at dinner but wants an object that still looks considered when no candle is lit. They also make a fine housewarming or birthday gift.

Each holder has a polished finish, which brings up the depth in the veining and gives the stone a soft sheen. Marble is a natural stone, so the pattern varies from piece to piece and no two sets carry quite the same markings.
