Our Lennox lounge chair pairs a teak frame with a woven rattan seat and back, and the weave is what makes it. The rattan runs in a close herringbone, with a large diamond worked into the back, a smaller one across the seat and diagonal bands running out to the edges in a contrasting strand. The chair is 78cm wide, 70cm long and 75cm tall, with a seat 49cm off the floor and 30cm deep. It weighs 9.95KG, light enough for one person to lift from room to room.

Without arms and with a wide, open seat, it sits comfortably beside a sofa, at the foot of a bed or by a window in a living room, bedroom or landing. At 49cm the seat is not a low slung one, so it is easy to sit down into and rise from, and the 30cm seat depth keeps you sitting fairly upright, which suits reading, sewing or a long conversation. The maker rates it for a maximum load of 125KG. The natural tones of teak and rattan sit happily with linen, wool and other woven pieces, so it is as at home in a modern flat as in an older house with wooden floors.
