Description
The Ledbury is a 1.9m traditional lamp post in black cast aluminium, topped with a lantern-style head that houses a single E27 bulb socket. The lantern features clear glass panels on all four sides within a decorative cast frame with a domed top and finial, delivering a coach lantern appearance suited to period properties, cottage gardens and country-house driveways.
Designed for front gardens, driveways, pathway lighting and entrance gates, the Ledbury provides ambient outdoor lighting at a height that illuminates ground-level walkways without glare. The IP44 rating protects the internal electrical components from rain and splashing water, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate. The post base measures 225mm square and requires a concrete foundation or paved base with underground cable access.
The cast aluminium construction provides corrosion resistance and structural strength without excessive weight, making the post easier to install than wrought iron or steel equivalents. The black powder-coated finish resists UV fading and weathering. The lamp accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing control over light temperature and brightness to match the surrounding architecture.
Part of the Garden Zone Heritage Lantern range, the Ledbury shares design language with matching wall lanterns, porch lights and hanging lanterns in the same collection, allowing a coordinated exterior lighting scheme across multiple building facades and garden zones.

Frequently Asked
What IP rating does the Ledbury carry?
The lantern head carries an IP44 rating, protecting the internal electrical components from splashing water and solid objects above 1mm. This makes it suitable for outdoor installation in driveways, gardens and pathways exposed to UK rain.
What bulb does it take?
The Ledbury takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient pathway lighting.
How is the lamp post installed?
The post requires a concrete foundation or paved base with underground cable access. The 225mm square base plate fixes to the foundation with bolts or anchor fixings. Electrical connection should be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK wiring regulations.
Are matching lanterns available?
Yes. The Ledbury is part of the Garden Zone Heritage Lantern range, which includes matching wall lanterns, porch lights and hanging lanterns in the same black cast aluminium finish and coach lantern style.
