Description

This round stool for children is made from painted MDF in a multicoloured scheme that makes a simple seat look like a flower. The round top is 30cm across, with grooves running out from a central disc like petals, and the stool stands 31cm tall on two flat panels that cross beneath it, the narrower one rising like a stem. That gives a low seat sized for a child rather than an adult, with a top broad enough to perch on or to set a picture book down on.

We see it in a child's bedroom or playroom, pulled up to a low table for drawing and puzzles, or tucked beside a reading nook. Two small curved shelves fixed to the narrower panel hold a favourite book, a small toy or a few treasures within easy reach of whoever is sitting. Because the top is flat and round, it also works as a low side table beside a bed or a floor cushion. At 3.08KG it is easy for an adult to lift and move from one room to another as play moves around the house.
